Looks like she lost the power struggle then...

I wish to congratulate the people of Zimbabwe on their imminent liberation from tyranny and political shenanigans.

Seems he’s going to resign on state tv very shortly

That was a bizarre speech... he hasn’t resigned!

I'm thinking of Idi Amin. I thought he went to Saudi.

He's not muslim. They wouldn't help him.

He'll have hundreds of millions out for Grace and I don't think NK would suit her.

It's just been announced that Mugabe has resigned (by letter), thus halting the impeachment process against him that started a few hours ago. It is not known whether the resignation was made in return for a promise of no prosecution after losing his immunity as head of state.

So he got the hint... good...

Here's hoping that a Mugabe-free Zimbabwe soars in wealth, culture and social cohesion.

You hope so. However I fear a Robespierre or Bonaparte too.

You could argue that Mugabe fulfills that role in advance...overthrows the former tyrannical regime only to impose one of his own.

I’m still arguing this is a zanu pf internal struggle.

  14. lanokia

Possibly... though the same could be said for Robespierre and Napoleon and all that twaddle...

When you are effective one party state the only effective opposition is going to be internal.

Don’t think it was twaddle what I was saying was it?

Not what I meant Red... I'm describing the events of the French Revolution, the Terror and the rise of Napoleon under the highly historically accurate term of ''twaddle''.
