How to 'save' you tube with zamzar:
This is how to use with you tube
if you find the clip you want from you tube you then click on 'more' under About this Video (right hand side) and copy the url and paste into Zamzar
remember to delete http:// or else it will be there twice
then choose avi in step 2 if you have windows media at work or if you have itunes loaded choose the default file type 3gp and continue thru the steps...YOU DO NOT NEED TO REGISTER. After it gets emailed to you remember to save with a name you'll remember it comes thru with a gobbly gook number/letter name
This lets you save to memory stick/hard drive if you can't access you tube at work.
If you have realplayer it is really easy, it brings up a box saying "download" as the clip is playing, then store it on a memory stick. I couldn't believe how simple this was!
thank you thank you thank you
I just tried to use zamzar and got this message
At the request of Google we have had to remove support for the downloading of YouTube videos on Zamzar.
What a shame!
I used to use zamzar, but since they've stopped downloading YouTube, I've gone over to "aTube Catcher", and actually prefer it. It's very quick and easy.
When I get a spare ten minutes, I try to download a few videos (sorted into folders for different topics), incase Google find out about aTube Catcher and they get banned from downloading You Tube like zamzar did.
