Year 6 poetry lesson

Discussion in 'English' started by isobel789, Jun 5, 2011.

  1. On Thursday I have an interview at a Prep School, all my previous experience is at secondary. For my interview I have been asked to prepare a 35 minute lesson on poetry for a year 6 class. Any ideas, guidance would be very much appreciated

Surely the best thing for you to do is take a lesson that has gone well with Year 7 and adapt? The Y6 children are nearly Y7 now so it shouldn't require too much adjustment. You are bound to be more confident if you are teaching something you are familiar with and have some ownership of.
