Due to a doubling in numbers this year we need a different format. The Leavers service is combined with whole school end of year awards and takes place in school.
Any ideas/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!

  3. Not sure about the format you're after . . .the word 'service' made me think more of a religious tone?
Not on that note . . . we've done an 'oscars' style leaving assembly before. The year 6s could be the hosts; the show also requires film clips/ live acts (bit of talent to showcase) and of course advert breaks - the children get an op to act out their faves - bit of music to help it along. The 'oscars' themselves could be whatever awards need to be given out. Ours were compiled by the staff - each child got an award for 'best . . . . .' or 'most memorable . . . . . ' etc. It was a lovely assembly and well received by children, staff and parents.

  4. We had a similar issue. We decided to go all out and make it a huge thing by using our local theatre. As it is council run we got it for free (no booking so happy to let us use it.) Have also organised for all staff to wear academic robes and present awards. In process of trying to get a speaker to inspire the kids. I am considering finding one from School Speakers ... Link is... Www.schoolspeakers.co.uk

    Good luck :)
