Year 4 Numeracy interview lesson-help!

Discussion in 'Primary' started by Mitzi14, May 5, 2011.

  1. I have an interview in which I need to teach a 50 minute numeracy lesson to a year 4 class. I've been given no specific target but I know they are doing the Vikings and the school is big on the creative curriculum so I would somehow like to link numeracy with the Vikings topic. As it is my first interview I have no idea what to teach for the starter/main lesson/plenary-please help!!!

  3. Do something you are comortable with, a lesson that you know has worked well in the past. If you go down the Viking route dont make it too contrived remember you are teaching maths which most schools teach discreetly.
I mean you could do measuring - measuring viking longboats.
You could do problem solving using gold pieces etc - a viking went to battle he needed a helmet a shield a spear etc how much did it cost for the equipment? etc
