    Hi everyone,

I'm moving to a new school this year and I'm going to be working in Year 1. I'm currently in Year 3 in a junior school and have no idea what to expect!

What type of things do the children need practise with (e.g. basics such as washing hands, zipping coats?)
    What can I expect?
What will the children be able to do if they come in at expected level? (how much can they write, are many lessons practical?)
How are your classrooms laid out? Do you have continuous provision like in the EYFS? How different from EYFS is it?
Which phase of phonics do children come in at (expected level?)
What is your timetable roughly like for the day?

I know every school is different but if you could write what you do at your school? That would give me a rough idea of what to expect.

    Thanks in advance!
