Year 1

Discussion in 'Primary' started by ditzyEYT, Jul 28, 2015.

  1. Hi All,

I start teaching Year 1 in September and have never taught this before my first year of "Teaching" was in FS1 and FS2 so rather different.

On the Run-up to September I want to get things out of the way to make those first few weeks easier. I'm meeting up with another year 1 teacher in my school to go over planning in the last week off but I just want to see what I can do for now?

I know that I need to set my classrooms up so labeling resources, setting up displays and sorting out book labels have all been done.

I have written down the reading records for each child - meaning each has 2 pages to start off with (hoping to read once/twice a week with them) so this should keep me going for a small time.

Is there anything I should/could be doing? (Aside from resting up that is!)
