We will be studying Breaking News next term and want to organise a thrilling trip! Places at the Sky studios and the Guardian are already gone - any inspiring ideas? TIA :)

Sorry, no ideas to offer - but if you can get on the waiting list for the Guardian for your next class, then do it. We waited over a year for a place, then took Year 5 last term - it was amazing - so professional, led by an ex-headteacher. So much crammed into the day and such a lot of real learning. Children worked in pairs; each pair had a state-of-the-art AppleMac computer and an ipad, so no-one was waiting around, every child was occupied all the time. Every pair left with a 'front page' they had produced. A fantastic experience for staff and kids alike!

    Try your local newspaper?

Try local radio - BBC and independents - also, does your parental body include any journalists?
