***Written notification of Maternity***

    Not really an answer to your main question, but 2 suggestions;
    (1) Keep the formal notification of maternity letter separate from the one dealing with the other issues/grievances. It only needs to short and only needs to cover the basic facts that have to be notified to the school re maternity leave. You can say in it, as a simple statement of fact, that it confirms the verbal notification that you gave to the AH on date X
    (2) Write your letters to the Head not your line manager.
