writing to schools re supply work

Discussion in 'Supply teaching' started by cliveceltic, Nov 6, 2011.

  1. I did this at the start of September, got me no work either by the way. I sent them a 1 side of A4 covering letter enclosing my CV. My letter didn't go too much into detail other than a 'sales pitch' about how I am a highly motivated qualified teacher who is available for supply etc and a few bullet points as to what I could offer such as PPA cover (music specialist), KS preference, short term/long term, pre booked/emergency etc, I got one response from 15 letters sending my the school application form (academy) saying they can't keep my CV on file unless it is sent in with one of their recruitment application forms.

    Hope that helps
  2. thanks for that, has given me some hints. I don't really expect much work from this, but as I'm hardly getting any work through my two agencies, I thought I'd give it a go...
  3. Are sending these speculative 'letters' by e-mail, or posting them through the mail? If the latter, I would suggest that it is not worth the expense in printing, stationery and postage, as this strategy is very unlikely to get you any responces, let alone any owrk.
