Discussion in 'New teachers' started by spunja, Jan 25, 2012.

  1. Hi guys, I'm finding it extremely difficult starting to write my person spec, I am hoping to apply for a vacancy but the deadline is in 2 days!!! Please Please can someone send me theirs to have a look at, it doesn't have to be great just something to get me to the interview stage!
    Many thanks in advance.

So it has to be great then. I think mine is pretty good but I've only gotten to interview twice in the last academic year...
What are you struggling with? x

Please ,please do not plagiarise! it is dishonest and it is very easy to copy a turn of phrase or grammatical error. The essence of a personal statement is the personal bit.If recruiters |(like me) receive identical statements they are both binned as I have no way of knowing which one is copied. There is an exemplar statement on the prospects.ac website to give you a general idea of the sort of content required but we do look for quality individuals who tailor their applications to the post and school.
Your personal statement does have to be great as I want to appoint a great teacher

I was absaloutely astonished at a thread I came across earlier with the amount of people giving their email addresses so someone can send them a copy of their letter to a GTP school. These letters and personal statements must be personal! I'm currently applying for a GTP and whilst I'd seek advice on how audit tests and interviews had been in the past, I'd never attempt to get hold of a personal statement, simply because I'd feel like I was lying to the school, the provider and most importantly myself!

I can understand the daunting feeling and how important it is for you, but if you genuinely believe you are right for the job then you should have experiences which demonstrate your skills, abilities and capability of meeting the requirements.

I wish you all the best in your application, good luck
