Writing number seven with dash. Correct or not?

  1. What a pathetic ''rule''. I can't think of anything else to say.

we are supposed to be encouraging links to university, ask the local maths dept at the university what they do/encourage!
some schools do like to prooove how important they are with pointless rules!
i wonder how they would react to being acused of some form of racism for this stupid rule?

I always use the 'continental seven' not sure why, a habit I picked up in my teens.
A few years ago I worked for a short while as a numeracy coordinator in a school that had a numeracy policy saying, ' continental sevens' should not be used.'
I left before anyone noticed my crime!
