Would you let a teacher leave earlier than the end of term?

Discussion in 'Headteachers' started by ff392, Jun 1, 2011.

  1. I have handed in my notice and have the opportunity to start another job before the end of term - well 2 weeks before the end of term.
If I asked........ would the Head be able to say I could leave?
No - not ideal for school but for once in my life, thinkng of me !
    Thank you

I do Application and Interview one-to-ones, and also contribute to the Job Application Workshops. We look at application letters, executive summaries and interviews, with practical exercises that people really appreciate.

  3. That would be unfair to the school and would negate the good will. As teachers are supposed to give half a Term's notice leaving two weeks before the end of summer term is a big ask. It would suggest that the teacher was finished at work on the date they left.
  4. Have asked Head today as new employer wants me to start asap.....
