Workplace bullying in Education

Discussion in 'Trainee and student teachers' started by a19pb, Jan 26, 2009.

  1.
Bullying of student teachers
This thread includes details of some real cases and importantly describes how people often blame themselves rather than considering other's motives.
To protect yourself requires that you are able to recognise the indicators of being in a bullying environment early on. It is not always as straightforward as people (including the bullies themselves) would lead you to believe.

  2. Thank you. Your posts have helped me through some difficult times. This really does go on in schools.

  3. I hope they continue to help others too in the future.

People expect those in authority to be both decent and honest people who have no reason to mislead new entrants into the proffession. Unfortunately people who are bullied do not recognise what is happenning to them when they encounter some rather damaging people.
Even if you think you understand how workplace bullying operates, spend a little time looking at some of the threads on the subject. It is very probably that what you learn will make a positive impact on both how you handle and protect yourself and others.
