    This for me is the most interesting part of the OP. Learning how to calibrate how these muscles work is what causes toddlers to fall and it's genuinely remarkable how quickly they go from being able to find out how to walk, to become a pain in the butt, and able to escape a beating from my walking stick, when I needed to use it.

    The reason that the elderly have falls is the same that toddlers fall. Our brains are coping with so much information from feedback from all those muscles that is required to keep our balance, that it only takes a second of of arrhythmia to put it all out of kilter. That and the myriad of other things that can affect the brain.
