Will there be the promised jobs after half term?

Discussion in 'Jobseekers' started by pinkjacqui, May 31, 2011.

  1. Hi. I don't feel I'm justified in moaning about not having a job for September yet, when I seem to have applied for far fewer jobs than other posters, and have only been to one interview but I am moaning none the less, for which I apologise. I'm getting increasingly stressed by not having anything lined up when I finish my training, and currently no live applications. I know there are others on my course in the same position, but despite being told by my mentor that there will be other jobs coming up in June, I simply don't believe her. Is it likely that there will be jobs advertised in the next few weeks, as I'm starting to feel totally inadequate, and the prospect of nothing being out there for me to even apply to is making all my hard work this year seem a total waste of my time, and those who have supported me.

    Moan away!
It is hard not to be depressed, but there is somne hope for you.
Once people have handed in their notice for September on 31 May, there will be a flurry of jobs that need to be filled, and only those not in permanent employment can apply.
So there will be more jobs, and you will have as good chance!
Make sure that you open the Welcome thread and read the shortlisting clickables inside, to get advice that has really helped othet posters.

I do Application and Interview one-to-ones, and also contribute to the Job Application Workshops. We look at application letters, executive summaries and interviews, with practical exercises that people really appreciate.
