Will people wait until Monday?

The instructions/guidance is that as from Monday up to 6 people can meet up in a garden. This will include travelling some distance to visit loved ones as long as the whole journey can be done in one day and that care is taken when handling food and using the toilet.

My thought is that folks are not going to wait until Monday but be out there today and tomorrow meeting up.

Saw a family group of about 5 or 6 meeting up (birthday celebration) near us yesterday.

Rules? What rules? We all use our 'instinct' don't we?

For sure. Most people will realise that Sunday is not materially different from Monday.

Judging by the state of our local park this morning, they were out there yesterday.

(I said much the same to my husband yesterday - making this announcement on Thursday, to come into force on Monday, with a glorious weekend in between and pratting on about barbecues and picnics ... not the best public announcement I've seen.)

I've just cycled through our local park.

There are about 30 small children catching tadpoles in the duck pond, parents standing round in groups. Kids playing football, people sunbathing, lots of happy dogs running around.

    Social distancing - forget it.

The parks, beaches and national trust car parks will be packed this weekend.

Does bojo have the testicular mass to reintroduce lockdown if the infections and death rates rise?

There will be no second lock down.

I really doubt that the populace will do this again.

But is this any different from the last few weeks? We have had an unofficial Swedish type lockdown in my part of the woods for about 3 weeks now.

Only in the last week have I seen it really fall apart around here.

    Funny that

Sadly I think many people will pre-empt the new guidelines. :(

Last night a group of students from different households sat about a foot apart in the front garden carousing till dark. The rest of us in this street have followed the rules to the letter but have to have our total neighbourhood risk increased by this lot. It's the house Deals-on-Wheels visit. I do hope they leave here in June.
