Maybe the idea that this poll is just a bit of fun enabled Tessers to have a laugh. Also of course even if the entire country voted for the Brexit party in the Euro elections, it would not make any difference to Farage's non existant chance of even becoming an MP let alone Prime Minister.

I think it's rather more than that.

He has tried to get elected to Parliament on a number of occasions and failed every time. Why do you think this will change?

I must say I haven't checked, indeed I wouldn't even know how. I must say I am not all that interested.

There’s no need for a party to stop him. Voters seems to do it quite consistently every time he stands for something other than MEP.

I am not clear about this. He has been an MEP for years but despite this, he hasn't got into Parliament despite the apparent popularity of UKIP at the times of the elections.

The opposition has never been so weak and the country so divided and perturbed.

If the Brexit Party does well tonight he can strike while the iron's hot and push for a place at the EU exit negotiations in this country. Wearing his MEP hat and with the support of other Brexit Party MEPs he could even thwart the remain position.

I doubt the conservatives will get anywhere further in their negotiations and we'll come out of the EU without a deal.

Meanwhile, the faffing about will continue and then the Brexit Party will look like the only other option especially if they get Peterborough along the way.

I don't think anyone would vote for a climate change denying racist to get a no deal Brexit. That's wrong on every level. No matter how annoyed people are with things, voting for racists and climate change deniers will make their world a whole lot worse.

They won't get in at a general election. Not a single seat!

Emily Thornberry has said what I wanted the Labour Party to say. Whether it can happen is doubtful .

    The two posts above:

encapsulate the predicament we are in. There is very little middle ground and opinions will become even more polarised.

Things could get unpleasant. Still, I know which side I'm on and it's not with the climate change denying racist and his admirers.
