Is there a locksmith among us? I loaned someone a storeroom key today and whilst I was selecting the appropriate key, I pondered about how the various keys differ and how many variants of a particular key and lock there will be. We have at least fifty similar Chubb locks on the estate I manage, each with a unique key. This led me to wonder whether the initial keys are made to fit the locks or the locks made to fit the keys, which I think would probably be easier. Does anyone know the answer?
