Just occurred to me, not seen Doomzebra around recently... anyone?
I miss that feature too. Maybe we are not supposed to check up on our favourite posters?
Do you mean the search for a member facility?
I must admit there are quite a few names i've not seen recently-although NellyFUF has just posted and is now back to an 'occasional poster'.
Strangely, I had the same thought today, too.
Maybe s/he is back under a different name and we are all sensing her/his presence.
Could be that like me he locked his old account (you get about 5 goes with a wrong password) and I've no memory left - couldn't even remember my email address for recovery.
Are there no PMs any more, and "friendship requests"?
PMs exist, Jacob, but they're now called Conversations. I've been wondering about Doomy for ages.
What's happening to the menfolk?
According to NuTES, Lurk was last seen on October 24th,
Click "Search forums" up there /\ type in name of poster only and you see their latest activity.
Whither said "conversations" I see no such on screen?
if you go up to the very top right of your screen, you should see a little version of your avatar and your username beside this . . . . hover your cursor over your avatar and a drop down menu should appear. 'Conversations' is about 4th on the list.
@catfordbetty or their doppelganger was on the Mumsnet thread recently.
Except it is completely empty.
That because you need to start the conversation @jacob
Edit: You have a conversation... just click the avatar logo next to the post and select 'start a conversation'.
I've sent you a message!
What I meant was that they have disappeared all the saved conversations and "friends" that were there in the original system, before they changed it to this one which is still significantly crapper than the old one, but presumably easier for the thought police to slap down ingenuity, humour, cheek and legitimate insults. It has been ultra-blandified. Gaaaaaah!
I've been slapped down a couple of times.
On here, I mean.
Jacob - didn't you know that it is so much better here now. By the day, more posters are adopting beige as the PC virus spreads. Even former heavy weights are light and fluffy as they move from doing battle to comparing notes on cross stitch:=)
