Where can I find a list of points of referral?

Discussion in 'Further Education' started by alikhech, May 19, 2010.

  1. Dear all,
I have to write an essay that fulfills the following tasks:
    1. Discuss issues of equality and diversity and ways to promote inclusion with learners.
    2. Review your other points of referral available to meet the potential needs of your learners.

    My question is:
"Does anyone know where I can get relevant information about 'points of referral'?"
I will be very obliged for any help.
    Best regards

  2. Ah ha!

That would possibly be other agencies in and out of the school/college that could offer supprt for specific needs:
Inside could include student services, SEN dept, counsellors, tutors, chaplaincy, BGT group, etc
Outside could include CAMS, dieticians, police, social services, Samaritans, Sexual Health Clinic, Connexions etc

As a tutor you would normally refer to student services/other pastoral support within college and only need knowledge of the existence the others.
    Unless someone else knows better!
