… and the staff are bustling around panicking about a power cut! I had already been there about 30 minutes (the dentist was running late) so this didn't do much for my pre-examination nerves. However, luckily my dentist was on the top floor with a different electrical circuit so my treatment could go ahead. I've had a dull toothache for about a week and feared the worst. It turned about to be a receding gum which had knocked a bit of filling out. It seems I brush my teeth too vigorously!

Glad it was nothing more dramatic.

This happened at my practice. Imagine being half way through root canal work and there's a power cut! Luckily, the power went off just after my work had been finished.

That's not intuitive, is it? My instinct would have been to see if something had tripped a circuit breaker.

I was sure you were going to come in with a reason why a power cut would not stop the dentist's drill.

Apparently, it was caused by the water cooler.

I don't think it affected anybody's treatment. I don't actually mind the dentist but the waiting certainly didn't help!

Not exactly the calm waiting room environment you want at the dentist. Glad all was ok. You’ll have to play calming music while you brush in future to stop you from being too vigorous.:D

    It wouldn't - dentists usually have back-up

    Nobody likes the dentists much.

My current one is brilliant though.

Those Black and Deckers are not for teeth.

Root canal work can lead to a nasty complication - Lock Jaw! (Boom, boom)

    (Canals - locks, geddit?)

After sorting out my debilitating dental pain a few years ago dentists are my heroes!
