What's the best thing about this Autumn?

    Just that really.
I am loving the colours of the leaves, but also the many red and orange fruits and berries around this year. They are showing up beautifully in the late afternon sun at this very moment.
What are you enjoying about the season?

It's unusually warm although I'm not sure that's good and I never know what to wear.

All of them, if I'm living in the moment, but the prospect of stinky cold dark wet winter round the corner spoils it. Our gas bill after last winter was terrifying.

I love seeing the spiders' webs in the morning-either covered in dew, or frost. A work of art and so pretty.

The autumn colours are beautiful here. The dogs and I have just been for a walk through the woods. So peaceful too.

Not had the heating on much at all. There have been some lovely days - Saturday and today among them. Autumn always reminds me of being a first time mum - son 1 was born Sept 29th. Brings back memories of being young.

Yes, were hoping to go to the Wye Valley this half term. hopefully the leaves haven't all been blasted from the trees yet. I love the borderlands there, great walks round Symonds Yat and Trellech.

A friend came round last night and her clothes smelled of autumn.

I love the sudden descent into dampness, leaf-mouldiness and mist.

Well, I'm a forward thinker, so I suppose in Autumn you're heading towards Summer, whereas in Summer you're heading towards the end of Summer.

That it's not yet this Winter.

September has been mostly gales and rain in this part of Scotland, October has had two nice days so far. Tbh, there's only been occasional flashes of inspirational joy to be had from the leaves etc.

Me too. Especially living here. We have views across a valley. I can sit on my sofa and watch one huge display for free, sometimes I can see about 10 other displays going on at the same time.
