What's everyone having for dinner tonight....the sequel!

Busy weekend for most of us by the sound of it!

The curry was absolutely stunning. Gentle heat with a tangy aftertaste. If anyone would like the recipe I shall post it.

Today has not been very productive. Tennis and snoozes. Will take the dog for a walk soon and probably have a refresher in the pub.

The postponed sausage and chips for dinner in front of a movie later.

    Congrats PCjr!
Well...................a truly epic week has come to an end.
Tom O'Dell was stunning on Friday night, and last night's Bjorn Again had us singing and dancing until hoarse and foot sore. Much champagne was consumed.
4 nights at Henley Festival has been incredible and also exhausting! Add that to the previous week of 3 dinners/lunches, Glyndebourne, Henley Regatta and and and...........................and I am ready to sleep for the whole of next week.
We finished off today with a lovely lunch in the garden with friends of sirloin joint on BBQ, Jersey Royals, home grown broad beans and mediterranean veggies, followed by meringues, strawbs and cream.
The diet starts tomorrow.......................no booze, no bread etc for next 2 weeks.

I had planned to do lasagne, but the tennis got in the way. By the time it was finished it was too late (and I was too mentally exhausted!) so we had egg and chips instead.

What a tennis match that was! We had lamb steaks with potatoes, broad beans and courgette all from the garden, including the mint and parsley. (Not the lamb obv.)

Dunno if anyone watched the cricket as well, but wasn't that exciting!

Five days of teaching followed by two of INSET to go! We can do this, troops!

I've no idea why the last week of Summer Term should always be so mental but it always is! Local authority subject inspection including lesson observations today; Y6 leavers' production tomorrow (three performances!); sports day on Wednesday, leavers' assembly and leavers' party after school with families on Thursday...I'm sure there's something on Friday as well...plus I've got to try and fit in some odds and ends of the curriculum I've not finished...phewf...

Mrs909's birthday today, so will have nice sirloin steaks, chips and salad...and a bottle of nice red. Slightly exciting for a Monday, then!

Salmon and green veg here. Shared a biriyani with husband at friends last night after going to see Yesterday. Planning what to see at Edinburgh Fringe. We've got some sensible Book festival items booked so we're now going for a mass karaoke and a Corries tribute band.

Have a lovely evening @nick909 in spite of what sounds like a bit of a turd of an end of term!

So the highlights of my day so far, changed the oil in the fryer (what a vile pair we are), baked some bread and made some dark chocolate brownies.

Supper will be Thai fishcakes with noodles in a ginger and chilli sauce.

My lovely Palestinian group arrived today, testing followed by Induction, I seemed to spend all the time saying, "Khelas, takalum inglesi", O/H i/c meals, think it's sausage and mash tonight with garden veg again.
Just to make Egyptgirl jealous, they brought me some Zata'ar and Arabic coffee.

Courgettes again with bubble-and-squeak from weekend left-over veg, with some pork medallions. We are trying to cut back on meat and with all that veg 3 small 2" cubes were more than enough.

Thanks folks. Busy day but then a nice relax in the garden with the steaks and the wine.

Three performances of A Midsummer Night's Dream for my class today and then I'll relax a bit. It's going to be brilliant - I have some seriously talented kids in my class. Was supposed to be curry from the freezer, but couldn't find it, so I'll pick up a pizza on the way home.

Sounds like a perfect birthday for Mrs909!
Detox etc continues tonight with salad and lovely boiled eggs from our little cluck birds.
Have now got friends for lunch Sunday, so making a paella in garden, and maybe......just maybe....a cheeky glass of rose.

Hope all those performances go well Nick. It's wonderful when one has talented theatrical children in one's class. Though they make 'interesting students' sometimes! ;)
Got a few pork medallions left from yesterday which I may make into pork chow mien, or perhaps a pasta salad.

Some sort of chickeny fried noodle concoction. What my great-gran always referred to as 2 skips around the kitchen cupboard and a rain water.

BOGOF pizza and sweet tater fries at the pub.

Did a “meet the parents” with my newbies this afternoon. Bonkers.
