What would you do with your new class for half an hour (year ones)?

Discussion in 'Early Years' started by CloakandWings, Jul 18, 2011.

  1. I am meeting them for the first time tomorrow. It's only for half an hour but I'm not in year one at the moment and am not sure what sort of thing to do. I was thinking of playing a name game and then something else, but I'm not sure what the 'something' should be. Any ideas?
    Thanks, x

    A story.
If you're brave, tell it without a book. You'd be amazed how that can hold their attention. Realistically, though, a book in hand will be a lot less stressful with Yr 1s. Something funny and engaging such as John Bermingham's 'Would You Rather'.
