Hi. Long story short, I have been teaching for three years and I've left. I love the actual teaching, I love working with children. I do not enjoy all the rest of the profession. It is draining all the additional work. Currently I am teaching French as part of PPA cover one afternoon a week, however this is not financially viable (I am taking home less than £150 a month). The job is ideal as it is teaching one of my specialisms from diversity without tonnes of marking and planning. I have asked for any additional hours but none are coming my way. It would be great to be a primary school French teacher, but it seems this career path is a lot harder than secondary school. I am not sure what else to do job wise. Working one afternoon a week is work yes but it's not financially viable work. I rely on public transport too. Any former teachers with advice or what jobs you do now? Do you enjoy them?
