Hello, please forgive me if I’m posting this in the wrong place as it is my first post.

I was wondering what honorarium one would charge for a series of workshops at a UK fee paying school? Does one charge by the class, by the hour? students taught? The theme would be story writing. I am published but not famous.

My fee some years ago was £250 per day plus expenses, travel at HMRC rate of 45p/mile. I am not famous either! I think I undercharged.

Same as you'd charge for a non fee paying school.

Really? Why is that? And how much for a no fee school then?

Is an 'honorarium' different to a fee? Not to HMRC it isn't!

    I charge £400 a day.

Presumably because you are providing the exact same service. You aren't going to be doing a better or worse job depending on whether you are in a fee paying school or a state school are you?
