I was wondering what roles can I apply for as a PGCES holder without QTS?
Within a school, any post except as a qualified teacher.
That might include Unqualified teacher (although these are rarely advertised). TA; HLTA; Mentor; Pupil Support (which specifically doesn't require QTS in the Person Specification). Even, in some schools, Head of Year, if it says Non-teaching and specifically doesn't require QTS in the Person Specification.
I am in a similar situation, i've been in FE for nearly 20 years, have my cert ed and a MA in outdoor education - what would i need to do to get QTS? what is the shortest possible route? because the bottom line is, as highlighted in your reply, all these positions would be less pay bar the head of year, which i imagine would be a tough one from an FE background. (sorry to hijack your question Damienweathers.
What were you thinking you might teach, charlieghammond?
