What level of pay would I be on?

Discussion in 'Pay and conditions' started by teacher595, Feb 12, 2011.

  1. I am an NQT who is is quite a challenging school. I have recently been shortlisted for a job in a private nursery where the pay is more than the M2 salary that I would be on next year. I just wanted to know if I decided to return to a primary school after teaching in a nursery would I have to be on M2 or would the years experience teaching in a private nursery count?

It would be up to your new school but they would probably only pay you on M2. They don't have to take account of the private nursery experience.
  3. State schools do not have to take into account any years of experience you gain in a private school. If they had the money to entice an experienced teacher by offering a slightly higher salary than they had to offer, they might. But these days...........
