Can anybody please tell me what the hourly rate for a UPS3 teacher in fringe area is or how schools calculate it? I do extra hours from time to time, school agreed I will still get paid my UPS3 but county calculation seems too low. I have calculated I should be on just over £39 per hour. Thanks for your help.

I’ve looked up the fringe salary for ups3 and divided it by 1265 hours (directed time hours) to get £31.40 so I don’t think it’s as high as £39.

A school day is paid at 6.5 hours which is 1265 hours divided by 195 days. Are you using the actual teaching session hours which may be fewer in the day? This is the standard method of calculation if your school uses teachers’ pay and conditions document.

Thanks very much Sundaytrekker, I used a school day of 5 hours.
