I looked on the good old internet, but got loads of articles which said 'multiplication is NOT repeated addition'. Opps..but didn't tell me what multiplication by scaling is. Can anyone enlighten me? Thanks

To me, if you think of a square 2x2 and multiply it by a scale factor of two, each side would be made twice as large so it would become a 4x4 square

But whether that helps, I'm not sure!

Multiplying by three makes things three times bigger. Multiplying by two makes things two times bigger. And so on and so on.
