The whole point of having a different username when job seeking is to avoid that.
You accuse anyone who has a difficult opinion for you a troll. Lame.
I applied to an Oxford college but they told me that as a working man I had better stick to my trade. Dejected, I got involved with my cousin and we had a load of kids who were hung by my eldest from an earlier relationship.
Otherwise, everything has been alright.
When you get to the TES job or Community website, you are asked to log in. You can log in with your Community identity, via your real name or your email address. It's been like that since I joined almost 10 years ago. So most people, I assume have two identities on TES, one with their real names and one with their Community name.
It was staggeringly hypocritical.
Or you could just write a letter, don’t forget to sign it with your username
Why the picture then? RJ defected didn't he? Gang of four and all that?
Are you sure multiple names are allowed? When did the change happen?
Because John Smith is someone I’ve respected and would have been a great PM. He wasn’t a traitor like the gang of 4
No I am not sure, it is simply an impression I get when reading posts from Tessers who post with multiple user names with apparent impunity. One of the contributors to this very thread has three user names that I am aware of, who knows how many they have in total.
Yes, I realise that. I was just commenting on the fact that a forum username was requested and used in applications at all. I'm sure that I have applied via TES in the past, but did not have to put anything from my TES 'account' - which is why I asked if this was a recent change.
Do you want names?
Although retired from headship now, I can categorically confirm that no HT would seriously consider a job application from Princess Fluffytoes, Trumpsupporter, MrTeacher1986 or Doggyowner.
Nor, for that matter, from Nomad, Modelmaker or Catbefriender.
It is not possible to apply for a job using a forum username.
I know who they are
I suspect it is a fairly open secret.
Don't think so. This isn't the first username I've ever had but in each case I've set up a new email address with no reference to my real name in order to set up a TES account in a name that is not mine. I suppose if they were that bothered, they could check out the IP address but I could be living in a shared house and simply have the same IP address as the other four TES-posting occupants.
Oops! Identified the mugshot wrong!
