    Hello,

Could anyone tell me what exactly the role of child development officer is?

I'm pretty sure that it is a role which used to be called a 'nursery nurse' - basically someone who works with children in a nursery setting who is not a teacher. I'm not sure what happens now but it used to be that there would be a head teacher and perhaps a few other teachers in the nursery who would plan and assess and then nursery nurses who would support small groups of children.

What is an officer is the word Police isn't in front of it?

I always used to suggest QIO's should get a uniform and blue lights for their cars as they are just enforcers.

What's a QIO? Thin on the ground over the last few years.
