I was horrified<strike> whilst in the shower</strike> this morning; I realised that I have spent more than half my life as a teacher!
28/51= 55% of my life as a teacher
    Who can beat that?

If you include teaching in schools, FE and for a training provider then anout 20/50 or 40% (I was a very 'mature' student when I got my degree and when I did my PGCE was pretty much the oldest there)
I stopped working due to disability a few years ago.
(The percentage spent teaching would increase if you include the tutoring I did before teaching - and even more if you include youth work as teaching)

  7. Over half my life as a paid, qualified teacher...and a bit more if you count the evenings and weekends I coached (to make ends meet) youngsters so they'd gain grammar school entrance/scholarships.

So The miserable bunch of Y9's I had then would now be<strike>.</strike>..<strike> just coming out of</strike> <strike>nick</strike> approaching their 40's!
I wonder if any of them remember me, I hope not, I was ****.

By September it will be 30/53, or 56.6%.

With a bit of luck I'll be out of it before 60%, and hopefully still breathing.

By June it will be 32/55, so just under 60%, though not all of it full time. I should also hope to have stopped before 60% as just doing Supply these days.
