    Who means people.
    Where means places.
    When means time.
Why is to do with a reason.
Which is to do with a choice.
What can I say about "what" ?

  5. No!
What is to do with things, opinions or feelings.
"What do you think?" What you think is not a fact.

  6. Oh poop de doop! Thank you CQ x

  7. So What is the capital of France ? - would be a thing? Wouldn't it be a fact?

  8. It can be a fact.
But a what is not a fact per se. See my previous example.
What denotes a thing. Fact or fiction.

ah, but ....in English we often use "what" when we actually mean "which"

  16. What = I didn't hear you - please could you repeat it?

  17. That is very inpolite English!

  18. Thank you all for asking. Stayed up till 12.30 to tweak and refine lesson. Delivered lesson which was great (in my humble opinion) - but no inspector to be seen :( . I have to settle for bloody "satisfactory" for my crappy maths lesson on Thursday. Exhausted, emotional and disillusioned...really wanted a "good" - everyone else got one :(
