Sorry, I got distracted. It is indeed a sad loss, not just to you but all the creepycrawlies and furry things no doubt living in it.

True. No point in being cross as he is kind enough to take all the tree prunings away and burn them which saves me a trip to the tip. The lucky thing (but not for the creepycrawlies) is that given the amount of work going on at chateau cosmos it won't take long to establish another one.

I didn't know guacamole was a thing with chilli, but it does make sense. Ours is accompanied by rice, sour cream and nachos (if we remember to buy them.)

Is it a very big project then, Cosmos? My composting has dropped since the council started food waste collections. I mainly just let the garden rubbish decompose now instead of actually making compost to use.

I'm getting hungry now. Must be time to go and cook!

It has been an enormous project, Flere. Two acres of French fields sadly neglected and wildly overgrown. Forty willows have come down, the hedgerow thinned, the existing orchard taken out as the trees were infested with mistletoe and dying, mountains of rubbish either recycled or taken bit by bit to the tip and a huge amount of wood now chopped up for firewood and nearly all stacked for next year. Phew. Oh, and a garden created from a corner of the field.

The to do list is even longer ;)

But that is compost Flere - once it has decomposed it is all perfectly useable.

Well... I've never used one but it wouldn't stop me!

    Well up for that...

Or hedge planting? Only 500 plants to go in.....
Or orchard planting? That might suit you. Only a dozen trees.
Or digging out a soft fruit garden?
    Or building things?

Or, failing all that, keeping me topped up with alcohol while I wield the spade and pickaxe

I know, I just don't do anything with it. When I had lots of food waste too, I had to keep my cone digester turning over but now I just don't bother.

You should offer Tessers working holidays!

I just popped in again, to find the thread that will not be liked, and found this.

I liked every post on the first three pages.

I mean, I genuinely liked them for a whole variety of different reasons.

    And then I got paranoid.

    What a strange how-d'you-do!

That sounds good, Flere. I'll be needing you during the tattie holidays as most of this stuff won't be done until October. Work on that pouring arm in the meantime.
