Emailed my letter of resignation! My heart hasn't been in the job for some months although I do still give it my best efforts. I just don't want to be there anymore.

Christmas 2020 will be my last as a teacher!

Sad to hear of yet another one leaving, but I can well understand anyone wanting to leave these days.

    How exciting for you.
    What will you do?
Have a long rest in January, obviously, but after that?

How wonderful like Montgaine, retired from officialdom to dedicate the rest of ones life to what one wants, good luck.

I handed in my notice around this time last year (retiring) after 38 years, and it was the best feeling ever. Retired at 59, could have gone onto work until 65, but time to enjoy the finer things in life now!

I am now actively sorting out what I will do after I retire in a couple of years now. I used to think I would really really regret leaving teaching but to be honest I really cannot wait and if I can make it happen sooner then I will.

What are you planning? I have no regrets and feel as though a weight has been lifted.

I will probably go and work for my tutoring agency - I have been sounded out about this already.

I will also do a little writing and whatever else bounces my way.

I think quite a few older teachers within reach of pension will be thinking the same, under current conditions.
I'm certainly glad I'm out of it now.

Excellent decision.I have just retired. Even if we hadn't got the current pandemic I was done. The last 2 years were miserable and I feel a sense of relief and freedom.

I sent a resignation letter earlier this year. I can totally appreciate the sense of relief, and a weight being lifted from your shoulders!

I've contacted Did Teach organisation to see what my options are. I have had enough of teaching . I'm tired of being sad and demoralised. I just want my life back.
