'well i've been told to hit someone back if they hit me...'

    Today in the playground i came across a lovely chap who when questioned why he had hit someone back after himself being hit first said...



    'well i've been told to hit someone back if they hit me...'



    suggestions to deal with such occurances?

    Just say, "In our school, the rule is, we keep our hands and feet to ourselves."
     
  3. Generally conversations about such things go along the line of: "If he hits you and you let an adult know, who gets in trouble? ....Now think, if you hit him back, who gets in trouble? It's simple, really." I let them make their own choices. Talking to parents sometimes also helps. I have to admit, though, I've had two cases so far where a good thump in defence would have solved an issue much more quickly. Obviously, I don't advise children to do this.
