just after your ideas for weekly planning - online? Paper? Written? Planning boards? We are re-thinking ours with the new curriculum changes here in Wales.
    Thanks

Just don’t have one at all. I’m sure the teachers know what they need to teach without having to write it all down.

You need to consider who the planning is for. If the answer is SLT or OFSTED then you need to keep considering until the answer is the teacher for that specific class.

Teachers should be planning on whatever format, to whatever degree of detail they need to, to teach effectively. Some teachers find it useful to script a lesson, others are happy with a line or two to remind them of the direction the lesson needs to go. Don't forget that planning for the week often goes out of the window by Tuesday anyway, and following a lesson to a script is usually going to be poor teaching.

And none of that nonsense about detailed planning being useful for subsequent year's teachers, or for someone teaching your class if you're absent. It'll never happen. They won't use it. Ever.

It matters not a jot. Let teachers plan however they want. I've never heard or read a single convincing argument for following consistent planning formats.

Ask your teachers for their ideas and then let them use the one that suits them best. It will almost certainly be different for different staff and that is just fine. SLT will have to live with it.
    Perfect INSET activity.
