Hi all - I'm trying to find out how many hours a week are timetabled in to teach science in your primary schools? Is this different over Key Stage 1 and 2? We are looking to benchmark ourselves against other primaries in the opportunities we offer our pupils and just wondering what you do? With so much pressure on English and Maths, everything else is getting squeezed!

    Year 5/6 2 hours a week,
Year 3/4 1 and a half hours per week,
year 1/2 1 hour per week plus 1 day per term
    Reception -it varies!!

We also have a whole school science day twice a year.

You might get more response on the primary forum-we don't tend to venture onto the subject boards much!!

Thanks for that! I will try that! I don't visit these boards often!
