Discussion in 'English' started by lizfee, Apr 25, 2012.

  1. Hi all,
I am being driven a bit loopy with my tricky hyper year 7s and teaching them poetry..I wonder if anyone could recommend some poems/ideas that work well with lovely little kids that find sitting down a big problem..
    thanks in advance

I have a low ability year 7 group and I went with The Pied Piper of Hamelin as a narrative poem. The great thing about this is that there is a nice clay type animation on you tube so every lesson we would look at a section of the poem, watch a bit of the video and complete tasks (quite a few drama based) on that section. I have uploaded that scheme I think onto the tes resource area.
