Apart from those teachers who are desperate to convince others that teaching is a profession, nobody wants anything to do with this complete and utter waste of money.

All these organisations are are a bunch of interfering busybodies, who have swapped a job in a school for a cushy pen-pushing career, where they can stick their noses in where they aren't wanted, and definitely aren't needed.

GTC died because it was (worse than?) a waste of space! Why repeat the mistake?

The NUT seems to like the idea. The NASUWT isn't so sure.

If it was just an organisation for qualified teachers then it may have some merit. However it will be open to anyone with 'an interest' in education. I bet Rupert Murdoch has membership No 1.

This is a Trojan Horse - a truly professional body for teachers would have a membership restricted to teachers. Qualified teachers.

Hopefully this nonsense will go the way of the unlamented GTC.
