Hi, was wondering if there any heads of a VA school who could give me a bit of guidance regarding a situation with Foundation governors, the ex officio and diocese involvement?

A Faith school presumably (not all VAs are Faith schools). C of E or RC?

In my school (VA C of) there is the stipulation that the GB contains a minumum of two foundation govenors, one of which is ex-officio should the local clergy want to take the position.

The diocese have had very little input in apppoinments, leaving it to the school and parish council to rustle someone up.

Sadly, in my experience they tend to be the poorest quality on the GB and a number have been asked to leave over he last few years.
