Vindolanda versus Roman Army Museum

Discussion in 'Primary' started by hellyweg, May 2, 2011.

  1. I'm just about to start a Roman topic with my P3/4 class and am looking at booking a trip to hadrians wall as we live only an hour and a half away.

Has anyone been to Vindolanda or the Roman Army Museum, I can't decide which one to go to and which the children will get the most out of.

Any info would be gratefully received.
  2. great, thanks for the advice. Just got to raise the bus money now!
  3. Vindolanda is excellent. If you have time pop along one weekend and say you are a teacher doing a recce - they sometimes let you in for free! Speak to the educational officer because they also have workshops and people dressed in costumes. Fantastic.
