I am teaching this topic for the very first time and starting it half way through..as I am covering for a teacher at the moment. Does any one know of any good resources, websites etc as I want this to be a fun and interesting topic to teach. I am currently looking at Viking Laws but there doesnt appear to be much on it?

A quick search has revealed that there's a lot out there to look at!
Look at what's in the TES resources:
The Herts Grid for Learning has some links:
    Topic Box:
    and finally:
I could go on, but these are all really good places to go to first - I'm sure you'll find lots more!
(A whisper - probably a typo - but no apostrophe in Vikings)

Have found this really good site which has resources linked to the book Grim Gruesome Viking Villain: Trolls Treasure.
It has a section about Crime and Punishment.
This is the book on Amazon:
This is the website for the series. Have a look around it - fun facts and activities.
How the books can link with the Literacy Stategy:
Hope all these links, together with the ones in the other post are helpful.
    Have fun!

I'm the one making typos now - I seem to be having a night of it tonight!
I'll try to do better! [IMG]

Wow you have been very helpful...i was mainly struggling with the law side of the Vikings I just cant seem to find any videos on it which would have been excellent. I like the novel and I hope to purchase that tomorrow and although I wont get a chance to use it with my current class, I do plan on using it again when I teach it in the future.
    Thanks again :)

Have you or would you use all three books with a class and use and read in order or just book three?
  8. There's a chidren's novel spin -off in the Horrible Histories series, about a young monk called Eric (I think) who gets taken as a thrall. Quite informative.

  10. We searched on epals and found a school in Denmark. We worked together on a Viking topic using blogs and letters etc and have now continued to work on other topics.

  14. Can't say I did, but there is one on BBC Broadband and there will probably be something on espresso - if you have it - and Youtube if you don't.
