    ood afternoon,

I am hoping to recieve clarification on the details an nqt year involve.

My initial question is how long does a person have to complete their nqt in English school based around the UK, not Wales or Scotland?

Also are you able to undertake the nqt as a part time teaching role?

As long as you start the nqt year before the 5 years are you still able to collect your nqt year or do you have to complete the nqt year before the 5 years are up?

Thank you so much for this. Would you happen to know how long people have, from gaining your qts to starting the nqt?

So much conflicting information out there?

    Thanks

The Statutory Guidance is the key source - there is often confusion around the time limit. There is no time limit to starting or completing an induction. The only limit is on the amount of non induction supply work undertaken which is 5 years from the QTS date. The reasoning behind this is to prevent NQTs avoiding induction by working solely on temporary contracts.
The regulations apply to the maintained sector
