UWE Science PGCE interview

Discussion in 'Thinking of teaching' started by grichrards00200, Jul 20, 2015.

  1. Hi all.

I have an interview next week with UWE to do secondary science PGCE.

I cant really find much info of this uni or about the interview. Has anyone been to the interview or been on the course?

Any advice would be much appreciated [IMG]

You don't say which science specialism so here's both "with physics" and "with chemistry".

Both found using the UWE course finder search on their website. I assume applying for a course you knew little about was was a "restricted by location", or "not getting your first choice" issue, but in future, I'd advise knowing what you're potentially walking into before sending out applications - schools will expect tailored applications, and god knows, they're arduous enough to fill in without running risks of not wanting the post having put in the effort!

    Best of luck
  3. Thank you for your reply.

I am aware of the information which is available on the UWE website. I have applied later than planned but i am fully aware of the course and what it entails.

I have used this site before to search for information on other universities and have manged to find info on the interviews or at least tales of the course. I have seen a lot of primary posts, English and other subjects but none for science, specifically chemistry. Hence why i asked the question i did.

Ah, apologies - I misunderstood your post. It's a new course though, so suspect there's little out there?

For what it's worth, UWE's been highly recommended to me for when I do my MA. The education team seem personable and professional. And don't forget, the interview is for you to figure out if it's a good fit as well as the other way around.

    Again, best of luck.
