Hi I wondered if anyone here has ever included museum or heritage visits in their transition work (eg KS2-3, but any phase would be worth hearing about). Or have you had anyone from there come into school during transition activities or to help run summer schools etc? I'm trying to find out what potential there is for museums and heritage sites to do more of this and want to know what teachers look for when planning transition activities - what works and what doesn't? What are your priorities? Do you have any budget lines you can use for this or can you only take up free activities? Do you use other third parties and what is it about them that meets your needs? Would it cross your mind to use outside organisations in this way? Any thoughts? Thanks, Sally.
