Using Computer Games to Teach the Roman Empire

Discussion in 'History' started by holmes5668, Apr 4, 2011.

  1. I am putting together a largish unit to teach the Roman Empire and was wondering if anyone had used a city-building game like Caesar 4 or CivCity to enhance student knowledge and give them the chance to experience building a city. I am wondering which is the most historically accurate and whether there are other, better games out there.
I'm not a gamer (have not tried either game, but have read reviews), but they seem like they could really pull students into the unit.
    Any other software recommendations welcomed.
  2. Rome Total War
Nothing like virtually fighting the Second Punic War to teach the story.
