Upper Pay Scale (Threshold) and Maternity Leave

Discussion in 'Pay and conditions' started by Lola034008, Apr 22, 2012.

  1. Hi,
I was wondering if any one is able to help me......I am in my 6th Year of teaching and on M6 + TLR.
My head teacher asked me to fill out the 'threshold' form a while ago. I since have found out that I am pregnant.
I am due to go on maternity leave in July.
Should I still submit the form or will it not come into effect until after I return from Maternity leave (April 2013)?
Is my maternity allowance based on my current earnings (M6) or will I be placed on the Upper Pay scale while I am on maternity leave?
I hope some one is able to help! It's all so confusing!
    Thanks in advance!

Your maternity leave allowance will be based upon your salary in the 3 months preceding birth, so will be based on your M6 salary. You should submit your threshold application regardless of your pregnancy and if successful your salary will move to UP1 in September while you are maternity leave.
